PROJECT 3-LIGHT
Throughout the project, we were tasked with designing a non-denominational chapel at Farmingdale State College. The college wants this chapel to have an interesting control over light. They also want to maintain and add to the circulation of the college.

Light Background Research
Cornaro Chapel-
Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini

The chapel, located in Santa Maria Della Vittoria, Rome, Italy, was made by Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini in 1652. The chapel uses the baroque style architecture and used materials such as white marble for the statue and gilded bronze to deflect the light.

Giovani Bernini Lorenzo used bronze rays to deflect rays from the skylight onto the statue. This technique lights up the statue without lighting the entire building. This technique emphasizes the importance of the statue
The chapel depicts the vision of saint Teresa Alivia. it depicts her being visited by an angel who pierces her heart with a divine arrow

SITE SELECTION WITH LIGHT DIRECTION

I decided to pick this location because there are no buildings blocking it from the sun. I also picked this area because it adds to the circulation of the entire campus.
